Ekstasis

Mobile App / Live Action RPG / Interative Play

Ekstasis is a hybrid theatre/game experience, played by 4 players with smartphones. It has been developed by Pusselbit Games and theatre collective Nyxxx.

It’s part mobile game, part theatre and part live-action role playing game.

To play, 4 players join together in the same physical space - preferably in one of the players’ living room or kitchen, and log into the app. The story happens both inside the app on your smartphones, and in the physical room where you sit together.

The app will guide each player through a narrative experience, where they both act as players of a game and characters in a play. The players experience the story together, but on their separate paths, as different characters. You will move and act together, but you are also alienated from each other.

Each player will make their own choices throughout the story - but the effects of your individual choices always affect the story and experience for the other three players.

It’s a story about how you perceive yourself in relation to others, about friendship and trust, about temptation and weakness and perhaps most of all, about allowing yourself to be taken over by ecstasy. To let yourself go.

Ekstasis is available on iOS and Android in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland from December 3rd, 2021.
